Summer 2022- August Fishing for Kings and Browns on Lake Ontario
August 9th- Fishing has been good for kings, though their location varies quite a bit from day to day. One day they’ll be in the nearshore waters (100-200) and others they’ll be way offshore (500+). Wind direction and water temp generally dictates location of the kings. They’re biting on cut-bait, flasher-fly, and spoons. Browns are definitely around, usually less than 100 FOW, where you can find 50-something degree water near the bottom. We saw some huge scores for the sodus pro am, with big boxes of nice kings a fairly common occurrence. Expect more action in the nearshore waters as we approach September- 80-140 will been prime habitat the last few weeks of August!
Our Buddies at Hell Yeah Charters and Honey Hole Charters have been doing well. Give them a shout if you want to get out.
